Next Steps Community Course

Next Steps is a free community course which is open to women from the Stroud District who are no longer in a relationship which is abusive.

We speak to each person who would like to come to the course individually before we start so we can introduce ourselves and you can ask any questions you may have.

Next Steps Course

The course is usually held in a local venue in a small group with other women who have experienced similar situations. You will be able to explore your experiences of abuse in a relaxed and confidential environment.

Experienced members of the team who are skilled in supporting women who have been in abusive relationships run this course regularly over a 6–12-week period. The course is also available online if needed.

Next Steps covers the following:

  • What is domestic abuse?
  • The cycle of abuse, why is it hard to leave?
  • The effects of domestic abuse on children and families
