Children’s Services

Children are at the heart of our support service

Children are at the heart of our support service. We are focused on their wellbeing and future happiness and are here to help you to nurture and protect them, leading to positive and fulfilling lives.

At the refuge we make sure each child has a warm bed of their own to sleep in and a small welcome gift to help them settle in. There are plenty of activities for your children to take part in, alongside the new friends that they will make here.

Time is taken to get to know each child individually so we can help them to move forwards. We have a member of the team who is trained to support children in a range of ways, increasing emotional wellbeing, confidence, and self-esteem.

Children can spend time with her individually and in groups where they get to play, be creative and express their hopes, fears and wishes.

Most of our activities take place in the playroom. Our playroom is always open, it’s a central part of the refuge. We make sure it’s full of toys and activities to keep children entertained, some of which may be familiar, helping them to feel settled.
